If you’re facing issues where audio switches back to your computer speakers instead of your headset, try the steps below to disable enhancements and exclusive mode to resolve this problem.
Step 1: Open the Sound Settings
1. Click on the Start menu (Windows logo in the taskbar).
2. Select Settings (gear icon).
3. In the Settings window, click on System from the left-hand sidebar.
4. Choose Sound from the right-hand pane.
Step 2: Select Your Headset, Disable Enhancements and Exclusive Mode
1. Scroll down to the Advanced section and click on More sound settings.
2. A new window labelled Sound will open. In this window, click on the Playback tab.
3. Find your headset in the list of devices. It should be labelled something like “Headset,” “Headphones,” or the specific model name of your headset (in this example "Plantronics Blackwire 5220 Series").
4. Then click on Properties.
5. Click the Enhancements tab (if available), tick ‘Disabled all Enhancements’
6. Under the Advanced Tab, deselect all options in Exclusive Mode.
7. Click Apply and then OK to save your settings.
8. You will also need to do the same steps above for "Headset Microphone" or device of your choice microphone under the "Recording" Tab.
