The CloudCall Portal supports Microsoft Azure or Google SSO Authentication
Users can log on to the portal using their account number or name (if they have one) and password as they have always done. However, users that have Azure AD or Google accounts can also choose to authenticate using them. This is known as Single Sign-On (SSO) because users just have a single logon that they have to worry about.
FAQs below:
What is an Identity Provider? Which ones do we support?
An Identity Provider is an organisation that creates, maintains, and manages identity information (user accounts to you and me). Microsoft is one such organisation, and their Azure AD service allows companies to provide their employees with Azure AD user accounts and for other apps and services accept theses Azure AD accounts for authentication. Other examples of identity providers are Google, Facebook and Apple. We currently support Google and Azure AD.
Set Up and Configuration
There is no specific customer set up required to start using SSO. As long as users have a Microsoft Azure Active Directory or Google account they can begin using the new login process.
- Log in to the portal using your account ID and end user password
- Navigate to Service Accounts
- Select the required user account
- Update the email address field in the information tab
Does this work for users accounts and Admin accounts?
Yes. Both user types will have full access to the SSO feature.
Do I have to go to a new login page?
No. Access the portal as you usually would and the new page with SSO will be available. Also the new method allows us to automatically detect which region you are in and direct you to the correct login page.
Can I still use 2 step authentication?
Yes this feature is fully compatible and will continue to be available.
Is this only available for the CloudCall portal?
Our plan is to support support Single Sign On (SSO) across the entire CloudCall product suite. What this means is that when you as a user need to use any part of the CloudCall product (for instance the Chrome Plugin, the Admin Portal, the new Reporting suite or Mobile app), you'll see a new logon screen with some new users.
